It is rare to see lion and lioness (this close) in the jungle like Kasane…. Yes, we started our safari early morning at 6.00 AM in an open jeep inside Kasane Forest Reserve (Chobe National Park). We were anticipating a lot of African Elephants. But we were disappointed because we could see only lot of Impalas (African antelope). Also, we could see a few hypos inside the river water and one crocodile in a long distance. Not satisfied with this.

Anyhow convinced ourselves saying that seeing animals is a mere luck and we are not lucky today. As usual taking pictures of birds and impalas we reached the Stretch Point (Point where the Safari Riders stop for a time and rest for some time). Luck favoured us from this point. We got information from other safari riders about a group of lioness in an particular area. With a lot of disappointment for not seeing any of the expected animals (As i told in my previous post – Exploring Africa) we decided to take our chances to see the lioness. We were astonished to see a group of around 7 lioness just roaming in the forest. Wow!!! Amazing. View of Lioness Group in a jungle and that too within 100 to 200 meters was really a fine experience.Enjoyed very much there. We could predict that those lioness in group are preparing for a hunt. We were eager and ready to capture the hunt live, but as usual, it was only our prediction and the lioness was not in that intension (It seems). Also, a lot of safari riders like us rushed to the spot which made the group of Lioness to go back into the bushes..However, it was really a fantastic experience in my first tour at Africa.
